As a jet-setting flight attendant, I live these spontaneous detours, and let me tell you, Cleveland did not disappoint! The clock struck 2 PM when my flight touched down in Cleveland. Post-flight rituals done, the crew and I hustled to our hotel in downtown, finally unwinding around 3 PM. Quick change out of my uniform, and I was off to explore before dinner with my temporary companions.
Surprise – the latest Superman movie was filming just blocks away from my hotel! I couldn’t resist the allure of movie magic so I made my way to the filming location, although all I was able to see was just a tiny snippet of a scene unfolding amidst the hustle of trucks, crew, and fans standing around. Moving on, I found myself at Public Square, where I snapped pics by the Fountain of Eternal Life, marveled at the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument, and wandered into the Civil War Museum.
But the real showstopper was East 4th Street. This bustling stretch boasted restaurants, bars, live music, and an irresistible aroma wafting from Chef Michael Symon’s Mabel’s BBQ joint. Grabbing seats outside, my friends and I dug into mouthwatering delights like bbq ribs, brisket, cracklin’, and sipping on cocktails and beers. My drink of choice? The mint lemonade – seriously, a sip of heaven!
As the evening sun painted the city in golden hues, it was a reminder that I had a 5 AM flight to catch the next morning, so with a heavy heart I made my way back to my hotel. And just like that my brief yet unforgettable stint in Cleveland came to a close.
Although my time in Cleveland was short, every moment was packed with adventure and flavor. It’s not sure when my next trip to Cleveland will be but I am certain I will be back for more adventures and mint lemonades, no doubt about it!
Cheers to new cities and new adventures!🥂
