KIMPTON ANGLER’S SOUTH BEACH CELEBRATES MIAMI ART WEEK 2023 WITH ART WALK, A SERIES OF IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES FOR GUESTS AND LOCALS
Art Mixers and Gallery Pop-Ups are Just the Beginning of this South Beach Boutique’s Miami Art Week Offerings
MIAMI (Oct. 31, 2023) – In celebration of Miami Art Week 2023, Kimpton Angler’s South Beach plans to expand upon its ongoing Art in Residence program with Art Walk, a series of artful experiences throughout the property. The boutique hotel will host installations from two artists, an art fair, artist wine hour meet-and-greets, beer and cocktail tastings, and more — all steps away from the tent and gallery showings taking over Miami and South Beach.
Located in the world-famous Art Deco district, Kimpton Angler’s is close to the action of Miami Art Week and Art Basel taking place December 5-10. The design-driven hotel which serves as a sophisticated sanctuary for visiting guests is elevating its year-round Art in Residence program which is designed to connect guests to the worlds of art, food, fashion, and culture through approachable and intimate experiences. Kimpton Angler’s plans for Miami Art Week include:
The Eve Esthetic Fine Art Series by Dionysius “Dion” Burton
Location: Gallery Pop-Up, Kimpton Angler’s Living Room Lobby/Minnow Bar
Taking inspiration from the “Eve Gene” — the idea that we all share the same MtDNA as the first humanoid woman — Burton aims to align the feeling of global community with the human connection to nature. The series showcases landscapes captured from his travels to over 18 countries merged dynamically with over 30 models. With all imagery captured by Burton himself, there is no AI used in any of his designs.
Works by The Tracy Piper
Location: Gallery Pop-Up, Kimpton Angler’s Second Floor Breezeway and Seawell Fish N’ Oyster
A contemporary painter, muralist, and art activist represented by Voss Gallery in San Francisco; Piper’s illustrative work tackles social constructs in an abstract-realist style. The “Skin Wars: Fresh Paint” winner is best known for her vibrant portraits and figurative acrylic paintings. Piper is also collaborating with Kimpton Angler’s to bring the Miami Art Week experience to Lotus, where she will lead a mural-making art class for children, with the finished mural to be displayed at Kimpton Angler’s to raise awareness for the women and children’s shelter.
MUSE Art Fair
Location: Kimpton Angler’s retail space at the corner of 6th and Washington
For the second year in a row, the MUSE Art Fair will occupy Kimpton Angler’s retail space for Miami Art Week. The eclectic mix of paintings, photographs, and sculptures from Black, Hispanic, Caribbean, and African artists celebrates visual stories of differences and similarities. The collection of modern and contemporary art represents a variety of ethnicities residing in the US and abroad.
The Art of the Chalice by Stella Artois
Location: Artful Tasting, Kimpton Angler’s Minnow Bar
This Stella Artois pop-up bar celebrates the art of a fine brew enjoyed for centuries for its fruity malt sweetness, crisp hop bitterness, and soft, dry finish. For decades, Stella’s iconic chalice has enhanced the drinking experience, from its gold rim to its star stem. Kimpton Angler’s will give guests the opportunity to enjoy this classic brew and take home their own artfully crafted, hand-engraved glass.
In addition to Kimpton Angler’s Art Walk program, guests and locals can show their art appreciation year-round by exploring the various murals on display throughout the property and checking out the work of a rotating series of featured artists in the hotel’s living room lobby.
