POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (October 26, 2023) – Tri-Rail, South Florida’s premier commuter rail system, invites talented kids ages 5 to 17 to audition for “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent,” during “Tri-Rail Day” at the Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) 401 SW 2nd Street, Fort Lauderdale. Young singers from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties are encouraged to audition from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 18 for the chance to compete in Tri-Rail’s South Florida Kids Got Talent 2024.
This year’s auditions coincide with “Tri-Rail Day” at MODS, as part of a new partnership supporting the newest traveling exhibit, Thomas & Friends: Explore the Rails at the museum.
“We are excited for this great partnership where we’ll have local talent at the museum during a day when we are celebrating trains,” said David Dech, Executive Director of SFRTA/Tri-Rail. “This was a logical collaboration to help showcase how our train system brings families together in the tri-county area, just like it does for passengers every day.”
Tri-Rail hosts the annual South Florida’s Kids Got Talent competition, which brings children and families together from all over the region. The auditions are open to solo or group singers, ages five to 17, who are South Florida residents. Each act has a four-minute opportunity to perform at the auditions, where a panel of judges will select the acts that will compete in the final competition, scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 2024, during Tri-Rail’s 15th annual “Rail Fun Day.”
Over the past several years, Tri-Rail’s “Rail Fun Day” has welcomed more than 25,000 children and families, becoming an annual tradition as a free community event with interactive games, arts and crafts, and entertainment while promoting the benefits of riding the commuter rail system. During the 2023 event, 15-year-old Victoria Johnson won over the crowd and judges with her powerful voice and confident stage presence. She received a $500 grand prize, a one-year contract inclusive of a photo shoot with composite cards courtesy of Posche Models & Talent, professional studio recording sessions with MikeSoperMusic, and a “Family Plus Membership” from Miami Children’s Museum.
To schedule an audition, please register at www.tri-rail.com on or before November 14.
